The Impact

Our Story
It all started with a simple observation: students were being taught what to know but rarely how to think.
Janelle and Joshua saw this gap from two different sides of the classroom. While she was deep in the world of academic research and teacher mentorship, Joshua was on the ground with a vision to make education more meaningful and community centered. They realized that whether it is mastering a complex chemistry equation or navigating a difficult life decision, the foundation remains the same. It requires logical reasoning and a supportive network.
They decided to combine their strengths and 20+ years of combined experience to build something different. Dr. Ferro brought pedagogical rigor and a love for mentoring while Joshua brought the big picture drive and a commitment to hands on leadership. Between his saxophone sessions and her weekend baking, they began sketching out a curriculum that did not just meet standards but exceeded them by fostering genuine curiosity.
ThinkUS was born from that partnership. What began as a shared goal to improve STEM instruction has grown into a vibrant community of educators and learners. Today we continue to bridge the gap between theory and practice to help students find their voices and teachers reclaim their passion through clear and critical thought.
